Accessibility
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzThe use of information, communication options and the access to certain buildings and facilities is described as barrier-free or barrier-free if all people, including people with disabilities, can use them without additional help.
The barrier-free design of all areas of life is useful for:
- people with and without disabilities,
- Seniors
- Children
- Parents and
- People who are only temporarily restricted in their mobility.
For example, an elevator or ramp helps both people who need a wheelchair and parents who are traveling with a stroller. Texts in easy language or with illustrations help both people with learning difficulties and people who speak little German, can not read or can hardly read or do not know their way around a place.
