Civil servants recognise foreign professional qualifications in science and technology

The profession of civil servant in the natural sciences and technology career is regulated by state law. This means that the taking up and exercise of the profession is linked to certain professional qualifications. A recognition procedure is therefore mandatory.

The recognition of professional qualifications for civil servants in the natural sciences and technology career as well as for the listed subject areas acquired abroad is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Civil Service Act and the Career Ordinance.
If the technical profession is not to be exercised as a civil servant, a recognition procedure is not required in order to work in the public administration.
